Department of Arts

The Department of Arts explores society, intellectual ability and personality development of individuals through various disciplines. It provides insights into culture, politics, human behaviour, communication skill through all round education in fostering critical thinking and analytical skills.

The Department of Arts offers courses in core disciplines like Political Science, Psychology, Modern Language (English) and Mass communication & Journalism.
Languages offered are English Telugu, Hindi, Sanskrit and French.
The Department of Arts has also introduced PG program in the academic year 2021-22

Students gain a comprehensive understanding of political systems, human behaviour, media dynamics, and linguistic proficiency, preparing them for a wide range of career paths.

To enhance various aspects of students’ academic and linguistic skills, the Department of Arts has established 4 clubs.
1. Aristotle Club- offers a unique opportunity to delve into the realms of human behaviour and governance.
2. Horizon Club- To foster language proficiency, literary appreciation and critical thinking.
3. Vernacular Club- Facilitates linguistic diversity and fosters cultural diversity and inclusivity.
4. Multi Media Club- provides students to develop skills in various multimedia formats.
The club has a Through interdisciplinary studies and experiential learning opportunities, students develop a well-rounded education that prepares them for success in an interconnected world.

Mission

  • To foster critical thinking, creativity and understanding of human society through diverse aspects of arts, humanities and social sciences.
  • To promote interdisciplinary learning, nurturing cross cultural understanding and developing silks in communication, critical analysis and research.
  • To empower students to engage meaningfully with political, psychological, linguistic and cultural issues, preparing them for various career paths.

Objectives

  • To build understanding of philosophies, histories, literatures, societies, languages, cultures, politics and psychology which requires students to inquire critically, read deeply, write cogently, and express.
  • Through this comprehensive approach, student gain understanding of society communication and culture, preparing them for versatile and impactful career in various fields nationally and globally.
  • Instil ethical values and integrity that embraces diverse perspectives

General English a mandatory course for all streams (Arts, Commerce, Management, Life and Physical Sciences), in all six semesters.
