Faculty of Mass comminucation & Jounalism

The Faculty of Mass Communication and Journalism of Little Flower Degree College was established in the year 2020. Since its inception, it has focused on training students in the spheres of journalism, television production, radio production, advertising, public relations, film studies, digital media and photography.

To amplify theoretical and practical knowledge of students on various topics related to media and communication, students are exposed to student exchange programs,Field trips to Media Broacasting Channels, All India Radio, Film studios etc.

The aim is to nurture cutting edge media professionals with effective communication and critical thinking skills by organising guest lectures and workshops by national and local media professionals and academicians.

Little Flower Radio Club (LF Radio 22.51) was started in the year 2022 to provide a platform for aspiring RJs and DJs. Students produce daily radio programs enriching their skills in the field. The Club provides training in radio broadcasting techniques, communication skills and media production. It aims to promote cultural diversity by featuring daily news, music, interviews and discussions from various cultures and backgrounds.

The Faculty of Mass Communication has a media room specially designed to create and share innovative contents. With sophisticated and latest equipments, editing suites, Green Screen and Recording booths it is a dedicated space which serves as a creative hub where students can explore their interest in Short Film , Short Documentaries and News production. Students learn the art of Script writing, lighting and cinematography using advanced facilities provided in Little Flower Studio.

Objectives

  • To access the core domains of Mass Communication, to be a competent professional, to serve society and nation.
  • To provide an intensive and integrated media approach that would enable students to develop their individual expertise and skills within a secular collaborative working environment.
  • To work within a broad mandate while regularly updating its courses to meet the growing challenges of media.
  • To provide exposure in the media and broadcast segment, effect of anchoring , news reading , express their outlook and perspectives of latest media news.
