Faculty of Psychology

The primary focus of the faculty is scientific study of human behaviour and mental processes. Psychology draws from various disciplines such as biology, sociology, philosophy, and neuroscience.

We provide the students with a strong foundation of general psychology and personality theories which help them to understand the underlying principles of human behaviour. The social and abnormal psychology that are provided in this course will help the student about the function of groups,mass behaviour and causes of abnormalities in humans respectively in an understandable way. Child psychology and adolescent psychology will give an understanding of human development at different stages of life.

Involvement of practical work makes the student with the adequate knowledge to bridge a gap between theory and real life scenarios. We encourage our students to participate in research activities which help them in understanding the changing world and equip them with required abilities. Collaborative programs with other esteemed educational institutions to provide students with a wide variety of perspectives of knowledge students and gains practical knowledge by visits to psychiatric hospitals and counselling centres like NIEPID, NIMH, SAHAYAM Counselling centre OSMANIA UNIVERSITY and SWEEKAR UPKAR etc.

MONTFORT COUNSELLING CENTRE - We have a well equipped counselling centre in our campus where we provide psychological counselling not only for our college students and staff, also provides services to the outsiders issues related to educational, adjustmental, psychological and personal issues helping them in handle their situations.

Objectives

  • Access knowledge in the core domains of psychology, to be a competent professional, to serve society and nation.
  • Guide research work and projects to successfully present research findings at the end of the course, with a strong understanding of statistics.
  • Promote holistic development to equip incumbents for lifelong learning and clinical practice.
  • Provide basic knowledge and skills necessary in advance training programs in Psychology.
