Faculty of Political Science

The faculty of Political Science delves into the intricate workings of governance, policy making and global affairs. Its importance lies in nurturing informed citizens and future leaders, equipped with the knowledge to navigate complex political landscapes. Through critical analysis, it fosters a deeper understanding of power dynamics, ideologies and institutions. In today’s interconnected world, political science offers individual insights into international relations, diplomacy and conflict resolution. It equips students with the tools to assess political systems, advocate for change and participate meaningfully in civic life.

The faculty of Political Science commenced in the year 2011-12, along with Modern Language and Psychology, with second languages, Telugu, Hindi, Sanskrit and French

To comprehend current political and influence, Political Science offers papers such as Political theory, Western and Indian Political Thought, Constitution and Politics of India, International relations, Global Politics and Contemporary Political theory as Generic Elective.

Through interdisciplinary approaches, political Science addresses pressing issues such as inequality, human rights and environmental sustainability. It encourages students to explore diverse perspectives fostering empathy and understanding across cultures and societies.

  • To Providing students with comprehensive understanding of political systems, theories and ideologies.
  • To develop critical thinking and analytical skills necessary for evaluating political phenomenon.
  • To cultivate an understanding of the role of politics in society, including its impact on governance, policy making and international relations.
  • To encourage engagement with contemporary political issues and debates through discussion.
  • To prepare students for careers in politics, government, law and academia, international affairs through practical experiences.
  • To foster an appreciation for diversity of thought and perspectives within the field of political Science.
