JOHANN MENDEL CLUB
(Life Sciences Dept: Chemistry, Zoology, Botany, Biotechnology and Microbiology)Life Sciences Club was started in the year 2018-19, and was named as Johann Mendel Club, to honour the famous Geneticist and ‘Father of Genetics’ Gregor Johann Mendel. The departments under Life sciences Club viz. The Department of Chemistry, Zoology, Botany, Biotechnology and Microbiology are the active departments who organize various programs for the club.
The club aims to develop inquiring minds and curiosity about science and the natural world. It enables them to understand science and technology and their interdependence, thereby assisting in development of knowledge to explain and apply scientific information to solve problems in familiar and unfamiliar situations. The club seeks to motivate and promote coordination, discipline, leadership qualities among students and develop interest in science and technology. The purpose of the Johann Mendel Club is to develop student’s skills through various activities, team building and group discussion.
Objectives:- To stimulate curiosity about life sciences, and develop a genuine interest in scientific activities for the sustainable development of applied sciences
- To create awareness of the global dimension of science as a universal activity.
- To develop empirical knowledge about science and technology for innovation and solutions to preserve ecosystems.
