Faculty of Mathematics has been called the language of the universe. It provides concepts and techniques fundamental to many branches of social and natural sciences. The Faculty of Mathematics was established in 2008 with 25 students in the program BSc(MSCS). The curriculum offers a wide range of courses in pure mathematics and applied mathematics, involving logic and creativity, problem solving, analytical skills and attention to details that are of value in many careers. The Faculty of mathematics keeps themselves up to date with contemporary mathematics by organising/attending conferences, seminars, workshops and FDPs. Faculty has progressed from strength to strength in the area of intake of students,syllabus, and programmes and thereby, consistently striving for excellence. The faculty has a determined, dedicated, experienced and well qualified teaching fraternity and the programmes with the combination of Physics, Statistics, Electronics, Data Science, and Computer Science.
Objectives
- To foster the development of critical thinking and logical reasoning in order to promote lifelong learning.
- To develop the capacity to evaluate, deduce, and generalise from gathered facts and evidence.
- To enable students in a range of contexts to tackle challenging problems by using mathematical concepts and techniques.
- The ability to establish connections between applications and theoretical concepts, To enhance the ability to assess and interpret complex situations
