Telugu is a major Dravidian Language with its history of 575 A.D.

Telugu language holds immense importance as one of the oldest classical languages in India, boasting a rich literary heritage spanning over a thousand years.

Telugu is the mother tongue and regional language for the maximum number of students in Little Flower Degree College as our college is located in Telangana State.

The primary objective of the faculty of Telugu is to offer comprehensive courses from ancient forms,like padyam and vachana kavitha to modern poetry , prose, Vyakaranam and explores the rich tapestry of Telugu literary tradition. It also delves into natakam (dramas) , Navala (novel) , which foster an understanding of Telugu language and culture.

This course emerges in literary activities through seminars, workshops, and historical field visits. The faculty has made significant contributions to the academic and cultural landscape, nurturing a new generation and educating them as dedicated citizens to preserve Telugu heritage.

Objectives

  • To provide opportunities to enhance artistic skills among students.
  • To help students learn and write Mother Tongue, many are opting for English as a medium of instruction and couldn’t communicate and write in Mother language.
  • To provide an opportunity to think more, connect more, learn more and achieve more.
  • To Inculcate pride in Telugu language through historical facts and significance given by international linguists.
